Hand in hand with “Finding the Yes” is “Never Say No.” We don’t like to say, “No, you can’t do that here.” It is important to us that you feel you can do everything here that you did at home. This is your home now, so you need to feel completely comfortable. Some people just want to eat soup every day. Or they’d like their food cut up for them. No problem! We’ve put in a garden because a resident said they wanted to garden.
The best example of “Never Say No” that we’ve been faced with is when residents want to bring their pets to live with them. While we can’t allow your pets to stay here with you, they are always welcome to visit! For all of our caregivers, our first reaction to any request is not an immediate “No.” We pause and try to figure out a way to say, “Yes”.
